About Us

GMK Telecom was founded by Mamadi Diallo, who is the current CEO in December 2000. Mamadi has extensive experience in the phone card industry having begun his career at Alpha Telecom in 1998 and heading the African Sales department for Alpha Telecom in Europe where he was responsible for the rating and sales of the popular Alpha Africa Telephone card in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, France and the United Kingdom.

After leaving Alpha Telecom which was taken over, he begun his own company GMK telecom which produced and sold a wide range of products ranging from Africa Direct, GMK World, La Bamba, Euro Direct and Reggae Africa.

Soon thereafter the Sierra Leonian branch of GMK was opened and we started doing a refile arrangement with Sierra Tel, the incumbent telephone operator in Sierra Leone, where we handled their international traffic originating from Europe on our switch in the Central Business District of London.

Soon after we had an arragement with a major mobile phone operator in Sierra Leone, and we handled their top up slaes through our payment gateway for mobile phones.

GMK remains committed to being a market leader in the Telecommunications industry which is looking to impprove in West Africa particulasrlyw ith the arrival of the undersea optical internet cable which is set to greatly improve internet speed and reliability in West Africa.
